The history of Putt Pirates begins in 2013. It was a culmination of planets aligning causing the springboard of what has become legendary. Adam "Ad-Rock" Cribbs had a bachelor party in 2011 that was centered around a golf outing. The outing was arranged by close friend and fellow Appalachian State alumni "Matty Two Gloves" Genaway. Adam's friends and his brother Neil were in attendance. Neil didn't play golf at the time but, after observing the game through riding in the cart, found a quick interested and dove into the sport, playing as often as he could in Georgia with Sam and "Carly Pickles." Neil was married in 2012 and, for Neil's bachelor party, Adam also arranged a golf-focused bachelor weekend. Sam and "Carly Pickles" were brought into the mix of the bachelor party with "Vendsale," "Cort," "Rayford," "Matty Two Gloves," and "Nelly (former Putt Pirate crew)." The camaraderie went so well, the Putt Pirates idea and execution were all but sealed. March of 2013 would host the first annual Putt Pirates tournament in Myrtle Beach.Â
